Description
Estrella Azul’s magnificent infinity pool seems to merge with the sparkling Mediterranean Sea from its vantage point in the hills above Ibiza’s beautiful south coast beaches. Here, amongst three hectares of flower-filled, landscaped gardens, you can enjoy a secluded Ibizan retreat. Yet, you’re only minutes away from Ibizan favourites such as Blue Marlin beach club and Yemanja. This pretty Ibizan holiday home’s low-slung whitewashed walls feature quirky Gaudi-esque rendered curves before merging with sleek terraces of wooden decking. The large garden is filled with scenic spots to relax in the Ibizan sunshine. Laze in the shade of a terrace draped in bright pink bougainvillea. Pull up a chair under a shady canopy to enjoy a meal with friends. Or stretch out on a poolside daybed in sheer bliss. The pool has a gently shelving area, ideal for little ones or simply for sitting and relaxing, as well as a deeper section. Here, you can swim its length as you revel in the view to Las Salinas and Formentera, the sea twinkling just as invitingly in the distance. Two different al-fresco dining areas are located on a terrace overlooking the pool. This sunny terrace opens onto the main interior living spaces.
Inside, Estrella Azul is an equally happy blend of traditional, 200-year-old Payesa and sympathetic modern refurbishment. The cosy lounge, with winter fireplace, and the smart, well-equipped kitchen enjoy a tasteful blend of traditional Ibizan farmhouse and modern Ibizan chic.
A further interior chill-out and entertainment space is ideal for entertaining. Here, you’ll find generous sofa seating, a pool table, football table and a bar. For special occasions, request access to its club, with music system, lighting and DJ cabin.
Meanwhile, Estrella Azul’s guest accommodation is spread across the main house and a separate casita that overlooks the pool. In the casita, you’ll find the master suite; a palatial room in serene white.
Here, a curvaceous bank of sofa seating opens onto a private terrace. The mezzanine level above is dominated by a feature oval king-size bed and a suspended feature fireplace at one end. Not to be outdone, the master en-suite features a huge oval bathtub with tropical garden views.
By comparison, the guest bedrooms are charmingly subdued: dreamy doubles with white-rendered walls, wooden rafters, and inviting white linens.
Estrella Azul is a magnificent holiday home with a decidedly peaceful and secluded air, just minutes from some of Ibiza’s best beaches and beach clubs.
